LUMBERTON, N.C. - Thelma Brewington Bonney, 72, of the 500 block of Edward Circle, a retired practical nurse, died February 22, 1990, in a hospital.


Mrs. Bonney, a native of Roberson County, N.C., and a former resident of South Norfolk, was the widow of Earl Bonney. She was a member of South Norfolk Baptist Church, Chesapeake. She was also a member of the Women's Missionary Union and the Niner's Senior Citizen Club.


She is survived by five sisters, Stella Locklear of Red Springs, N.C., Mantha Emmanuel of St. Pauls, N.C., Ethel Hammonds of Robbins, N.C., and May Locklear and Annie R. Oxendine, both of Pembroke, N.C.


The graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. D. Mac Brunson. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel.
