Services for Herman Peter Eulberg, 86, pioneer of Dupree resident, was held Saturday Aug. 17 at the Sacred Heart Church in Dupree. Rev Fr Paul Casper and Rev Fr George Pringer officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Casketberers were Alvin Denton, Glynn Hurst, Kenneth Nordby, Raymond Linn, Harold Davis, and William Raile, the ushers were William McDaniel and Sidney Schad.
Mr. Eulberg died Aug. 13 at the Rapid City Rehabilitation Hospital and nursing center where he had lived for the past several years.
He was born on Dec 24, 1887 at Alton, Iowa. In 1910 he homesteaded northeast of Dupree where he lived until he became ill. He married Victoria Heying on Aug. 22, 1911 at Hospers, Iowa.
He was active in community affairs, an avid hunter, fisherman, and pool player.
Survivors include three sons, Albion, Worland, Wyoming; Rollin, Dupree, SD.; James, St. Louis, MO.; and one daughter, Cora, Mrs. Albinus Dosch, Dupree, SD.; nineteen grandchildren and three great grand children.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one infant son, twelve brothers and six sisters.
