Mrs LaVon Dunshee, 89, Colo, passed away at her residence on Friday, February 14, 2003 from congestive heart failure.

Services were held Tuesday, February 18 at the Colo United Methodist Church with burial at the Colo Cemetery.

Born October 9, 1913 in Promise City, LaVon was the daughter of Alfred and Kate Draper Hellyer. She married Raymond Dunshee on December 21, 1931 in Jasper, Missouri.

The couple moved to Colo in 1935 from Wayne county and she was a homemaker and housewife. She was a member of the Colo United Methodist Church and the Colo United Methodist Women.

LaVon is survived by four sons, Bill (Dorothy) Dunshee of Collins; Bob (Judy) Dunshee of Indianapolis, Indiana; Barry (Sally) Dunshee of Manning; Dave (Becky) Dunshee of Henry, Illinois' three daughters, Waneva Hartley of Nevada; Carolyn Ringgenberg of Ames; Denise (Paul) Conrad of Colo; 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; a brother, Clinton (Wynema) Hellyer of Corydon, Iowa; a sister, Patricia (Max) Moore of Russell, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband on April 12, 1989.
