Willie C. Vaughn, 87, died Thursday in Lincoln Regional Hospital after an extended illness. The funeral was Saturday at Gallant Riverview Funeral Home with Bert Watkins officiating. Burial was in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Vaughn was the son of the late Jim and Cordie Thornton Vaughn and a native of Lincoln County.
Surviving are his wife Mrs. Albertie Sorrells Vaughn; two daughters: Billie Sue Rutledge and Peggy Highfield, both of Huntsville, Ala.; three sons: Charles E. Vaughn, Junior Vaughn and Bobby Vaughn, all of Fayetteville; a sister, Lillie Carter of Fayetteville; three brothers: Hurley Vaughn, Marion Vaughn and Ellie Vaughn, all of Fayetteville; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
