Cecil KIRK, 89, of 1027 E. Ninth St., Rochester, passed away at 2:50 a.m. Saturday at Life Care Center of Rochester.

Born in Harrison Township, Cass County, to Charles A. and Anna Shaw Kirk, he married Edna Bonnie Mathews on Jan. 2, 1937, in Kewanna. She survives. Mr. Kirk was a farmer. He owned and operated the Rochester Dairy Queen for seven years. He retired from Torx after working there 13 years. He was a member of the Akron Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Bonnie Kirk, Rochester; one son, Bobbie G. Kirk, Oakland, Ky.; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Cecil Leroy Kirk, in 1987, along with five brothers.

His funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastor Terry Canfield officiating. Burial is at Palestine Cemetery, Palestine.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
