Leo Schoenberger was born April 10, 1897, at Liebenthal, Kans., to Joseph and Mary Schoenberger. He died June 4, 1971, at the age of 74 years, 1 month, and 25 days.

On April 19, 1919, he was married to Leodina Dreher. She died in September, 1930. Two children were born to this union, Joseph died in infancy and Seraphine was killed at Denver in 1967 in a highway accident.

On Oct. 13, 1931, he was married to Rose Dechant and to this union were born 15 children, five preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Rose; children-Robert, Joseph, Leo, Marvin, Frank, Mary, Louise, Pauline, Helen, Frances; 29 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sons-in-law and daughters-in-law; brothers and sisters-Catherine, Martina, Regina, Mary, Frank, Chris, Alex; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was a kind and loving father and grandfather and will be sadly missed. Funeral services were held June 7 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, the Rev. Joseph Scheetz, pastor, officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery. Military rites at the cemetery by Oakley Community Post V.F.W. No. 2981 and Oakley America Legion Post No. 339. Hall-Koster Funeral home in charge of arrangements.
