William Parker Cook was the son of John Bela Cook and Martha Ann Kelley Cook. In 1890, William Parker Cook and Sarah Etta Lee were married. They lived in Jasper, Jasper County, Texas. Their children were Clarice Etta, Lola, Willie May, Edwin, Doris and Lucy Cook.

William was the 7th great grandson of Stephen Hopkins of the Mayflower. Stephen Hopkins was a signer of the Mayflower Compact. William was the 6th great grandson of Giles Hopkins, son of Stephen Hopkins and Giles was a child on the Mayflower. In 1609, Stephen Hopkins was on the ill fated voyage of the Sea Venture with John Rolfe to Jamestown, Virginia. The Sea Venture was shipwrecked off of the coast of Bermuda. In 1610, Stephen Hopkins arrived in Jamestown, Virginia.
