Wounded Youth Dies in Germany
Cpl. Stuart A. Seelman 25, Reported Missing in Action on Nov. 17
Adolph Seelman, Constableville has received word from the War Department that his son, Cpl. Stuart A. Seelman, 25, who was reported missing in action on Nov. 17, 1944, died in Germany on Nov. 30, as a result of wounds received in action.
Cpl. Seelman was born at Constableville on Feb. 6, 1919, the son of Adolph and the late May Weiler Seelman.
He attended the Constableville rural schools and before entering the Army on Feb. 12, 1942, worked on his father's farm.
Cpl. Seelman received his training at Camp Polk, LA; Camp Rice, CA; Camp Pickett, VA and Indiantown Gap, PA. He went overseas in August 1943.
A brother, Pfc. Ervin Seelman, who was wounded Nov. 11, 1944 in France, is back in action.
Surviving Cpl. Seelman besides his father: are these brothers and sisters, Mrs. Albert Evans, Utica; Mrs. Roy Prosser, Westernville; Miss Mary Seelman, Rome; Pfc. Ervin Seelman, overseas; Miss Irene Seelman, Robert, Lyle and James Seelman, all at home. Boonville Herald, January 18, 1945
