Jerry Lendel Braden, 65, of Merriam Woods, died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at his residence.
He was born Sunday, June 2, 1946 in Taneyville, the son of Homer and Vada Roberts Braden. Jerry's family worked as migrant workers in Oregon, Washington, and Nevada during the fruit harvest. Throughout his early life, he worked as a cook and gas and tire attendant at local truck stops. Later in life, he was self employed as an electrician and worked in residential construction. He moved back to Taney County in 1970 and retired due to a disability in 1982.
Survivors include two sons, Wesley Braden and wife, Stacey, of Forsyth, Steven Braden and wife, Melissa, of Clever, four brothers, Kenneth Braden of Bradleyville, Richard Braden and wife, Kathryn, of Rueter, Glendel Braden and wife, Carol, of Warsaw, and Garrett Braden of Taneyville, three sisters, Norma Burkhart and husband, Russel, Marie Johnson, all of Taneyville, Regina Lawrence and husband, Bill, of Cedar Creek, and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Matthew Westcott, one brother, Bobby Gene Braden.
Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home in Forsyth,
