Geo. M. Kennedy Dies at Home in Burlington.

Relatives in this community received word the first of the week of the death in [West] Burlington of George M. Kennedy, well known to many of our readers.

The Mediapolis New Era has the following sketch of the deceased:

George M. Kennedy, retired farmer, died at 5:15 p.m. Monday (July 13, 1942) at his home, 318 Ramsey street, West Burlington, following an illness of eight months. He was born in New York City, July 29, 1868, and came here as a young man. He farmed for some time in the Mediapolis community and later west of Burlington. He retired in March 1941. He was a member of the West Burlington Methodist church and served on the official board of the church.
Surviving are his widow, the former Estella Brown; the following children, Wilbur at home, Mrs. Melvin Denneson, Mrs. W. E. Hill, Mrs. Martin Balzer, all of this vicinity, and Raymond, Chicago; ten grandchildren; the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Mattie Hayes of Denver, Colorado; Robert Kennedy of Yarmouth, Mrs. W. W. Caldwell of Columbus Junction, Mrs. Will McElhinney, Mrs. M. W. Baird and R. J. Kennedy of Morning Sun.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Burnett-Wallen funeral home. Reverend Morton S. Wyatt officiated. Burial was in Trinity cemetery north of New London.
