Mary E. Phelps, 87, of 300 Pearl St, Burlington, VT, passed away early morning July 23rd, 1981 at the Medical Center Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 13, 1894 in Montpelier, VT, the daughter of Moses and Mary (Viens) L'Ecuyer/Lagore. She was a member of the Confraternity of St. Joseph's and St. Catherine's parish. Mary and Roy Phelps were married April 15th, 1920 in Essex Jct., VT For 40 yrs. Mary and and Roy owned and operated an IGA Grocery Store on Lafountain St. in Burlington, VT Roy predeceased her in 1956.
She is survived by two sons, Charles of Shelburne and Raymond of Burlington, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held Sat. at 9:30 am at St. Joseph's Church with interment following in New Mount Calvary cemetery, Burlington, VT.
