Steven C. Browning Sr., 59, of Troy, passed away at 7:20 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at his residence after a 10-year battle with cancer.
He was born in Troy on June 11, 1950, to the late Edward and Betty I. (Wright) Browning Sr.
Steven is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Erica Browning Jr. of Troy; daughter, Cristy Browning-Johnston of Miamisburg; two grandchildren, Colin Browning and Alayna Johnston; brother, Edward Browning Jr. of Gettysburg; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Candace "Candy" and Rick Arnold of Centerville, Ann and Gary Gates of Troy and Chris and Dennis Adkins of Urbana.
He was a 1969 graduate of Troy High School. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. Steve retired as a semi-truck driver from the Expediting Co. of Vandalia. Steven was a member of the Troy Fish and Game and a former member of the Miami County Moose Lodge in Troy.
There will be a funeral service held at 1 p.m. Friday at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy. The visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday two hours prior to the start of the service (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.). The interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy with a military service at the graveside by the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard of Troy.
