Mrs. Rachel Davis, widow of the late John Davis, of Bird Hill, died on November 6th, aged 86 years, 6 months and 12 days. She leaves five children: Wm. Harrison, Elias N., Mrs. Ezra Little, Mrs. George W. Barber, and Mrs. Elias Shilling, of Woodberry, Maryland. Her funeral was held at Mt. Pleasant Church, near Gamber, on the 8th instant, Rev. Mr. Burdette of Deer Park Circuit, officiated. Six grandsons were active pallbearers: E. Leonard and James H. Davis, Ezra and Henry Little, William N. and Harvey Barber.
Mrs. Davis has two sisters living, one, Mrs. Barbara Shockney, of Arlington, Md., who is in her 90th year, and Mrs. Eliza Wakeland, of Baltimore, who is 75 years old.
