Hoyal Carroll, 75, of Robbins, passed away June 17, 2007, at St. Thomas Medical Center in Nashville. Born in the Smokey Junction community, June 27, 1931, he was preceded in death by his parents, Caswell and Louverna Bunch Carroll; one grandson, John Maynard Sexton; three brothers: Houston Carroll, and Fisher and Kenneth Daugherty; one sister, Lydia Beene; brother-in-law, Mart Beene; and sister-in-law, Mary Carroll. He was a member of Capital Hill Missionary Baptist Church; and served as a deacon, Sunday school superintendent and Sunday school teacher at the Black Creek Cross Roads Baptist Church. Ordained as a Minister for more than 30 years, he served as Pastor at West Robbins, Lone Mountain, Glenmary and Mt. Zion Baptist Churches. He loved to mow the grass, whether it needed it or not, loved to garden, bird hunt and spend time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Martha Carroll of Robbins; eight children: Randy Sexton and wife, Joan, of Dalton, Ga., Larry Dean Sexton and wife, Linda, of Mt. Holly, Penn., June Young and husband, Larry, of Robbins, Sandy Majors and husband, Chuck, of Clinton, Kathy Baliles and husband, Harvey, of Rockyface, Ga., and Debbie Henry and husband, Murley, Dee-Dee Frogge and husband, Willis, and Michael Carroll and wife, Elizabeth, all of Robbins; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one brother, Jeff Carroll and wife, Bert, of Alabama; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. The family was to have received friends for visitation from 6–9 p.m., Wednesday, June 20, at Capital Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 21, at Capital Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Massengale and Bro. Eli Crowley officiating. Music will be provided by Jared and Jessie Rhae Griffith and the Lloyd Family. Internment will follow at Black Creek Cross Roads Cemetery. Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville has charge of arrangements.
