A stray had kittens at my cousin's house & I adopted 2 of them. Spooky was my big beautiful all black " Maine Coon " cat. He was the most loyal loving cat I ever had & a mama's boy who followed me everywhere. He was like my shadow & I miss him so very much. He slept with me in bed & had to sleep under the covers next to me.
As you can see he had a good appetite & especially loved the kitty treats. Not counting his tail, from head to rear he was 32 inches long. We couldn't get a true weight because he'd never sit still on the scale. He was in the 30's somewhere for weight. He liked to play with his sister Snowy, (still with us), watch the birds outside, play with catnip toys, & being in my lap. He was very gentle & loving & never bit or hurt anyone.
His death was a huge surprise because he never was sick a day in his life. He didn't eat for a couple of days & didn't look right so I took him to the Vet. The blood work showed his was in final stages of kidney failure due to old age. He passed 1 hour after we got to Vet's. I was expecting him to get medicine & come home. I was in shock & couldn't believe he passed. It hurt so much & I really cried. I miss & love him very much.

Four Feet In Heaven

by Alice E. Chase

Your favorite chair is vacant now
No eager purrs to greet me
No softly padded paws to run
ecstatically to meet me

No coaxing rubs, no plaintive cry
Will say it's time for feeding
I've put away your bowl
And all the things you won't be needing

But I will miss you my friend,
For I could never measure
the happiness you brought me,
the comfort and the pleasure

And since God put you here to share
In earthly joy and sorrow
I'm sure there'll be a place for you
In Heaven's bright tomorrow

Rainbow Bridge

Author Unknown

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water, and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor, those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy & content, except for one small thing, they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent and his eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.
