Professional Football Player. For five seasons (1966 to 1970), he played at the running back position win the American and National Football Leagues with the Miami Dolphins. Born Stanton Earl Mitchell, he attended Sparta High School (Tennessee) and played collegiate football at the University of Tennessee. While with the Vols, he experienced a bowl game title as Tennessee defeated Tulsa 27 to 6 in the Bluebonnet Bowl (1965). Selected by the Washington Redskins during the 8th round of the 1966 NFL Draft, he would instead sign with Miami during their inception into the AFL. In 1967, he produced career highs in rushing yards with 269 and touchdowns with 3. In 42 regular season games, he compiled 548 rushing yards with 4 touchdowns. Following his playing career, he was a businessman.
