"Elizabeth Anne Gibson, 75, of Boise, died in a Boise hospital of a sudden illness.

The Vigil service will be held 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 10, 1997, at St. John Cathedral. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, at St. John Cathedral with Rev. Donald J. Raffle presiding. Burial will follow at Cloverdale Memorial Park. Services under the direction of Gibson Funeral Homes.

Betty was born in Butte, Montana on Jan. 29, 1922. She moved to Spokane, Wash., in 1925, at the age of three. She attended Lewis and Clark High School and Holy Name College in Spokane, and also Boise State University. Betty married Daniel G. Gibson, Jan. 29, 1942, at Our Lady of Lourdes in Spokane. She worked for the Federal Land Bank there until moving to Boise in 1949.

Betty was the Vice-President of Gibson Funeral Home, Cloverdale Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Inc., and D.G. Turf Farm. She was an active member of the Boise community for 48 years. She willingly volunteered her time and services to many local organizations. She served on the board of the following: The women of St. John's, St. Alphonsus Auxiliary (Charter Member and Lifetime Member), Junior league Sustainer Board of Boise, P.E.O. Chapter BK, Women of Rotary, and a member of the Catholic women's League, the Crane Creek Country Club, and also an auxiliary member of the Morrison Center. She enjoyed traveling all over the world and spending special times with her family and friends.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-laws, and five sons and daughters-in-law, .... Betty is also the proud grandmother of 17 grandchildren. She devoted her life to raising her family. she was preceded in death by her parents, Zachary and Helen Hangauer; two sisters, Dolores Allen, and Mary Jane Simonson; and one brother, Zachary Francis Hangauer.

The family suggests that memorials may be sent to Sisters of Mary, Marymount Heritage, 2150 Heritage Ln., Mesa, Idaho 83643; or to a favorite charity.
