William J. WALTERS, 81, Mentone, died at 3 p.m. Thursday at his home. He had been in poor health for 12 1/2 years.
Mr. Walters was born Dec. 2, 1880 in Kosciusko county to Abraham and Jane MATHEWS WALTERS. He lived in Illinois for a time, then moved to Mentone in 1930. He was a stone quarry worker in Illinois and a service station operator in Mentone.
He was married to Edna KING in Rochester on Sept. 2, 1936. Surviving with the wife are two daughters, Mrs. John BALLOT, DeKalb, Ill., and Miss Mildred WALTERS; a son, Chester [WALTERS], at home; a brother, Lou [WALTERS], Mentone, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Reed funeral home at Mentone with the Rev. Irvin OLSON officiating. Burial will be in the Tippecanoe cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7p.m. today.
