Obituary

John William Darby, one of Montgomery county's best-known residents, died Saturday night at his home at Gaithersburg, aged 51 years, of pneumonia after an illness of about eight days.

Mr. Darby was a son of the late John W. Darby and was a life-long resident of Montgomery county. He was a brother of Judge Remus R. Darby, of the Orphans Court, and of Richard E. Darby, of the Democratic State Central Committee of the county. For about 12 years he taught in the public schools of the county.

Surviving him are his widow, who was before her marriage a Miss Dorsey, of this county, and two daughters.

The funeral will take place from the family residence Tuesday morning, interment to be in Monocacy Cemetery at Beallsville.
