Gandy, 84, of West Monroe will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday February 12, 2011 at Cedar Crest Baptist Church, West Monroe. Interment services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Salem Cemetery, Athens, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Rev. Greg Clark, Rev. David Moreland and Rev. Barry Blanton will be officiating. Mr. Gandy was born May 27, 1926 in Athens, LA and passed away February 7, 2011 in West Monroe. He was a charter member of Cedar Crest Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Gandy retired from L P & L with over 38 years of service. He was preceded in death by brothers, Harold Gandy and Prent Gandy and a sister, Helen Powell. Mr. Gandy is survived by his wife, Martene Gandy; son, Michael Gandy and wife Candace; daughter, Patricia Gandy; grandchildren, Casey Gandy Brown and husband Kenny, Nathan Gandy and wife Amanda, and Audrey Gandy Trisler and husband Tyler; step-grandchildren, Tia Hexom and Nathan Hexom; great grandchildren, Anna Claire Brown, Logan Brown and Cade Brown; brother, Paul D. Gandy and wife Barbara; sister, Jean Powell and husband Melvin; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Paul Gandy Jr., Jerry Gandy, Prentis Gandy, Jimmy Gandy, Dennis Powell , Kenneth Powell and Billy Powell. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2011 at Cedar Crest Baptist Church, 3233 Arkansas Rd., West Monroe, LA 71291.
