A native of Crossnore, N.C., she was the daughter of Eddie J. Shell of Elizabethton and Brenda Gail Johnson Glover of Elizabethton. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Mrs. Shell was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, suvivors include her husband, Alvin D. Clawson, of Roan Mtn.; a daughter, Summer Sky Clawson, of Roan Mtn.; her stepmother, Robin Shell, of Elizabethton; four sisters, Kimberly Shell, of Austin, Texas; Beverly Shell Stephens, of Hampton; Amy Shell, of Johnson City, and Sarah Shell of Gray; two brothers, Joey Shell, of Boone, N.C., and Jerry Shell, of Germany. A special cousin, Angie Fry, of Jonesborough, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

SHELL -- The funeral service for Jennifer Gail Shell, 31, 317 Bear Branch Road, Roan Mtn., who died Sunday, March 23, 2003, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at the Tetrick Funeral Home Rhododendron Chapel, with Rev. Kenneth Grindstaff officiating. Music will be under the direction of Sarah Carr. The graveside service and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Shell Cemetery, Hampton Creek. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Harrell, Sherill Howell, and Jim "Doc" Jones.
