Mud is what you hear from every corner at present. The roads are almost impassable. I noticed a funeral procession yesterday and they were compelled to stop every 50 to 100 yards to clean the mud off the wagons. The dead was the remains of the infant child of Lee Turner of Emden and was buried at Andrew Chapel, The burying grounds at that place are being filled quite fast; five have been buried there in the last month. But the death of these five persons it is proven that death is abroad in the land and it is no respctor of persons. The oldest was 61, the next 45, next 20, next 60, next 6 months.
