6/12/34 HENIGE - BIRCHMEIER
Another June wedding of interest took place Tuesday morning at 8:30 o'clock a.m. at St. Michael's church, Maple Grove, when in a very pretty ceremony performed by Rev. Father Bosler Miss Lucina Henige, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Henige, became the bride of Kenneth Birchmeier, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Birchmeier. The bride was attired in a gown of ivory satin fashioned with closely fitting sleeves and a ruffled train. A tulle veil edged with lace was gathered to the back of a turban of tulle and lace and was caught at the sides with orange bloosoms. She carried a shower bouquet of Johanna roses, sweet peas and lillies of the valley. Her attendants were the Misses Albina Yaklin, her cousin, Imelda Birchmeier, sister of the groom and Angelita Yaklin the bride's niece. Miss Albina Yaklin was gowned in a long pastel yellow organza dress that was very becoming in its simplicity. The other two attendants wore dresses made on the same order and of the same material and in the colors blue and pink. All three wore picture hats in contrasting shades and carried bouquets of tea roses and sweet peas. The groom was attended by LaVern Birchmeier, his brother, and by Clarence and Albert Henige brothers of the bride. An all day reception was held at the home of the bride's parents for friends and relatives to the number of 100. Out-of-town guests were present from Ohio, Detroit, Lansing, Flint and other nearby towns. The young couple were the recipients of many beautiful gifts. After a short wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Birchmeier will make their home in New Lothrop.
