Richard Nathaniel Bissell, son of Richard P. and Frances E. was born near Anita, Iowa in 1879 and passed away in 1935, at his home in Lincoln township, at the age of 55 years. He had lived his life in the vicinities of Anita and Massena.

On January 4, 1905 in Atlantic, Mr. Bissell was united in marriage to Lena Almond of Parker, South Dakota. To this union seven children were born, five of whom, with their mother, are left to mourn. The children are Mabel, _____, Clair, Royce and Keith. Maurice passed away January 13, 1918 and Inez Maurine on October 24, 1923.

He is also survived by living brothers and sisters: Guy Bissell of Eagle Grove, Iowa; William Bissell of Woonsocket, South Dakota; Mrs. Cora Porter of Bridgewater; Samuel P. Bissell of Okston; Charles Bissell of Massena; Blanche Hines of Guthrie Center; Minnie Hatfield of Bedford, and Miss Maude Bissell. A brother, Harry Bissell, passed away December 2, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri.
