LOUISBURG – Adria Hale Allen, 65, of Louisburg, formerly of Kinston, died Monday morning at Duke Medical Center.

Adria was an artist, silversmith and a pioneer in bringing back the art of Italian hand-made bobbin lace. She also was a fire and EMS instructor as well as being involved in the Red Cross in Wilson; and was the former Executive Director of the Lenoir County United Way.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Adria is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Greg Stephens of Hamilton, Ohio, Michelle Alston of Raleigh, and Alexa and Jeremy Moore of Louisburg; her mother, Mabel H. Allen of Louisburg; brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Ellen Allen of Kittrell; and eight grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Adria to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 305 N. Church St. Louisburg, NC 27549 or U.N.C. Greensboro, Art Department, 527 Highland Ave. Greensboro, NC 27402. Online condolences may be sent to stricklandfuneralhome.net.
