Brother of Mrs. Lumina Gadbois Carbonneau who resided in Littleton, New Hampshire during the war.

Oscar served as a Machinist's Mate, Chief, U.S.S. Truxtun (DD-229), U.S. Navy during World War II.

He resided in Grafton County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

Oscar was declared "Missing In Action" in the "Line Of Duty" when the Truxtun ran aground and sank "in a howling gale" in Newfoundland during the war.

110 crewman lost their lived in this sinking.
