Married Deacon Josephus Barney Smith of Rehoboth, May 1837; The family moved to Illinois. Harriet left four children: Harriet, Charles, Leonard Josephus and Edward M. Smith. Harriet was the first wife of Deacon Josephus B. Smith. After Harriet died, her husband married Lydia Bliss who was her first cousin. Harriet was the daughter of Deacon Asahel Bliss and Deborah (Martin) Bliss.
