I remember my wife looking for a golden retriever while we were at the animal shelter. I happen to find Dallas in a pen at the far end of the shelter. We adopted Dallas and took him home with us to share our new home. Dallas was the best friend you could ever ask for, unless he got out of the house. He would run the neighborhood until someone would call saying they had found him. As Dallas got older his running off days slowed way down. Right before Christmas of 2007 Dallas was having an issue with his right front leg. The vet said it looked like arthritis but we needed to keep and eye on it. In January of 2008 his leg started getting worse. On January 24th Dallas took his last trip away from the house. The vet determined that Dallas had bone cancer and it had spread to his lymph nodes. Dallas was releived of his suffering and passed away in peace. His ashes sit in our living room along with his favorite tennis ball, collar and bandana. Dallas you are sorely missed!
