James H. Mace was born in Wapello county, Iowa, July 3, 1862, and departed this live on January 14, 1899, aged 36 years, 6 months and eleven days. He was united in the holy bonds of matrimony with Miss Viletta Runyan, on Sept. 15, 1885. This union was blessed with three children, two sons and one daughter, Charles, Ross, and Hazel, all of whom are living, and with their mother are left to mourn the loss of a father and husband. Mr. Mace was converted on December 24, 1898, and on Jan. 12, 1899, he with his now sadly bereft wife, united with the Congregational church of Agency. On Jan. 14, 1899, at 1 o'clock a. m., after a long continued sickness and intense suffering, he passed peacefully to rest, with his Lord and Master, the source of his newly found joy. Peace be to his ashes, and may he rest until the trumpet calls to the judgment of the last day.
