Frank was the son of Phillip Francis and Clara Jane Fox Adolph. He married 1st Cora C. Anthony on December 27, 1899 in Boone Co, MO. From this union were born two children: Frank Ernest Jr and Virginia Lee Hendricks. After Cora passed, he married Cora's sister Leila Ethel Anthony on December 20, 1920. From this union were born two children: Phyllis and Phillip Anthony. Frank was a traveling salesman of patent medicine.

Frank was the second son of Philip Adolph and Clara Fox, born in 1874 in Branch County. Michigan. He died there in 1951. Frank became a traveling salesman for a patent medicine company. He met and married Cora Anthony while working out of St. Louis. When Cora died of cancer in 1920, he married Cora's younger sister, Leila. He returned to Branch County in 1925 (1935) and bought a farm near Coldwater, He took pride in his corn production and was named State Champion three times. With Cora, he had two children, Frank and Virginia; with Leila, there were two others, Phyllis and Philip.
