Funeral mass will be Saturday, January 12, 2002 at 10:30 AM in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Montrose, SD. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
Joseph W. Bartmann, son of Anton and Rose (Schoeberl) Bartmann, was born November 2, 1912 in Salem, SD. On August 4, 1943 he married Marcella Wingen in Montrose, SD.
Survivors include: his wife, Marcella of Montrose, SD; four sons, Duane and wife Barbara of Montrose, SD; Vincent of Canistota, SD; Michael and wife Marlys of Canistota, SD; and Patrick and wife Kelly of Montrose, SD; three daughters, Mary Ann Ribbing and husband Carl of Longmont, Colorado; Nancy Herman and husband Bob of Montrose, SD; and Donna Uthe and husband Keith of Madison, SD; 23 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Schuttloffel of Lennox, SD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Jeanne, a brother, William and an infant sister, Louise.
