First w/o John C Henderson - they divorced in Mahoning Co Ohio about 1945 They owned a home at 29 Erskine Ave in Boardman several houses down from Market St. (more to be written)

Found her in 1920 census as servant in home of Doctor Gilbert Hanen Galford- Illinois She came to US about 1915 and born 1899 she would only be about 15 years old.

She returned to Toledo Ohio where she remarried and died there sometime during late 1960s or early 1970. This is under study. Maiden name Griffin.

We believe he married Julia about 1926 as she was with him in several photos taken in California when he visited his mother in San Diago. ( her mother lived nearby also and remarried a Sein)

Julia was said to be a great homemaker. mother and cook.

They adopted a female child in Toledo and named her Shirley Ann born July 28, 1935 in Lucas Co Ohio. She was a the biological child born to Alvina Dorothy Campau age 20 unmarried, a housekeeper in father's house, living at 153 Lake Shore - Toledo Ohio and Paul Smith living on Monroe St Toledo Ohio, clerk in grocery store - age 24.
Her maternal grandparents were Harry and Julia Campau.

Julia wanted the original birth certificate to remain with her adoption record. dated June 11, 1936 - Toledo Ohio. Julia Henderson's name is only name on adoption record, even though she was married at the time.

Julia E Henderson, who resides at 4452 Walker ave, Toledo, Ohio deposes and says is the mother by adoption of a female child born July 28, 1935. The affiant further says she adopted this child as per probate court records, Doc (??Muse, no 14696 Lucas County.
The affiant further says she desires this notation made on the original birth record and the name of the child changed from "unnamed Campau" to Shirley Ann Henderson. Further the affiant sayeth not. signed... Julia E Henderson sworn before me and subscribed in my presence this 11th day of June 1936.

New information 2017 she may be Julia Griffin d/ o Andrew Griffin from Glasgow Scotland

Appears her father Andrew Griffin died after coming to America likley in Illinois and mother remarried to a man names Charles Sien. Family found living in California

**Poster of this memorial recalls the telephone call from adopted daughter Shirley Henderson telling of her mother's death. They (parents) never told Shirley she was adopted. She knows now as poster of this memorial sent her all the adoption records in 2016 to nursing home.
