She was born March 7, 1925, in Webster City, Iowa, to Sam and Nettie (Nelson) Mickelson. She grew up and lived in Iowa, and married Douglas C. Sharp in Mason City, Iowa, on Jan. 31, 1946. She moved to Buyck in 1960, where she and her husband owned and operated Trails End Resort on Echo Lake for 10 years. She was employed at the former Schley's store in Buyck, and for the past several seasons as a housekeeper at the Borderland Lodge at Crane Lake. The special joy of her life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. And she also was an avid gardener.
She is survived by three daughters: Sharon (Arlie) Anderson, Vickie Sokoloski, Joan Dejno; one brother, Richard (Jackie) Mickelson; three sisters: Doris Greenwood, Marjorie Norcross, and Ruth Baker; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas, on Jan. 29, 1994; one brother, Clarence Mickelson; one sister, Esther Larson.
