Mary Francis Imlay Clark Smith, 78, Provo, died Sunday at the Utah Valley Hospital following an illness.
She was born June 5, 1892 in Panguitch, a daughter of Thomas and Minetta Jacobs Imlay. She was married to Albert C. Clark on October 18, 1910 in Salt Lake City and he died October 1, 1918. She was married to James H. Smith on October 15, 1919 in Lynndyl and he died April 2, 1960.
She received her education in Panguitch. Her mother died soon after she was born and she later moved to Salt Lake City with her father. Following her marriage to Albert C. Clark she lived in Salt Lake for a short time, then moved to Lynndyl where Mr. Clark worked for the railroad. Following her second marriage she lived in Lynndyl until 1954 when they moved to Salt Lake City. She maintained her home in Salt Lake City until six months ago.
Active in the LDS Church, she was a teacher in Relief Society, Primary, and MIA. Her hobbies were reading and needlework.
Surviving are four sons and five daughters, Albert T. Clark of Provo; louis L. Clark and Euray I. Smith of Concord, Calif.; Jimmie E. Smith of Granger; Mrs. Joseph (Aleen) Easterbrook of Salt Lake City; Mrs. William (Alta) Thomas of Magna; Mrs. Donald (Alice) Lawson of Scipio; Mrs. Elwood (Margaret) Dean of Arvada, Colo.; and Mrs. Joseph Willis (Annette) Overson of Kearns; 47 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Seth Leon Imlay of Salt Lake City.
Funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, Provo, with Bishop Nevin Williams of the Provo 29 LDS Ward officiating. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
