Wolcott, Thomas J.
Thomas Judd Wolcott I, b. 27 Mar 1802 Dutchess Co. New York - d. 4 May 1854 Dutchess Co. New York (#83872583), and.
Jane Dewitt (Burton) Wolcott, b. 7 Apr 1807 - d. 26 Dec 1893 (#83872563)

Jane Dewitt (Burton) Wolcott is the memorial I found first and noticed her maiden name, Burton.

My 3rd great grandmother was Mary Ann (Boughton-Wolcott) Hadsall, b. 6 Sep 1819 - d. 16 Jun 1903 Forkston, Wyoming Co. Pennsylvania (#69991311).
Mary Ann Boughton married 1st, Hiram Wolcott, b. 2 June 1802 - d. 3 Aug 1868 Forkston, Wyoming Co. Pennsylvania (#69990948) my 3rd great grandfather;
Mary Ann (Boughton) Wolcott married 2nd, Burton Hadsall, b. 1814 - d. 17 Nov 1888 Forkston, Wyoming Co. Pennsylvania (#144677116).

So you can see why the name "Burton" caught my eye. Perhaps Burton Hadsall was named for the Burton family surname?

Mary Ann Boughton was the daughter of Timothy Boughton Jr. and Jerusha Hazzard. After much searching, I was able to find that Jerusha was the daughter of Joseph Hazard and Comfort Pritchard (at least I believe Comfort's maiden name was Pritchard). Joseph Hazard (and probably Comfort Pritchard) also goes back to Dutchess Co. New York, specifically Fishkill Township. Joseph Hazard was a slave, manumitted as an indentured servant. Another researcher (from when I was a ancestry.com) and myself have found DNA matches that are in the line of Henry Wolcott & Elizabeth Saunders.

Hiram Wolcott was connected to a Loomis family in Forkston. There was a Justus Wolcott (1735-1831) in Luzerne/Wyoming Co. PA in 1799 who married 1st to Edith or Edify Loomis (1746-1837).

Our DNA matches with those descendants in Justus Wolcott's line, which is:

1. Henry Wolcott & Elizabeth Saunders
2. George Wolcott I & Elizabeth Treat
3. George Wolcott II & Elizabeth Curtice
4. George Wolcott III & Mary Hartwell
5. Justus Wolcott
6. Hiram Wolcott?

These Wolcott's lived in Wethersfield and Newington, both in Hartford Co. Connecticut

There's also a possible connection to one Francis Wolcott in early 1880's Luzerne/Wyoming Co. PA, who might be the same Francis Wolcott who married Catherine Bresie. I cannot say. This one I'm still somewhat confused over - even more so, since he - Francis - goes back through the line of Capt. Simon Wolcott, b. 11 Sep 1624, Lydeard St. Lawrence, Somerset, England - d. 11 Sep 1687, Windsor, Hartford Co. Connecticut; married 17 Oct 1661, Windsor, Hartford Co. Connecticut, Martha Pitkin, b. 12 Dec 1638, Berkhamstead, Hertford, England - d. 13 Oct 1719, Windsor, Hartford Co. Connecticut.
