Funeral services will be held at 2 PM from the Colfax Methodist church for Mrs Katie B Payne, who passed away at the family home in Colfax at 6:30 AM Thursday. Rev Gordon Clews will officiate. Burial will be at the Plain View Cemetery. Mrs Payne was born at Thorntown on January 25, 1888, the daughter of John and Nancy Brooks. She and Samuel Payne were united in marriage on October 16, 1902. She was a member of the Colfax Methodist church. Clifford and Lawrence of Colfax and Leonard of near Frankfort; two brothers, Carl Brooks of Indianapolis and James A Brooks of Colfax and 10 grandchildren. One son preceded her in death.
