Mrs. Fred (Emma) Gouldthorpe, 71, 974 Glenwood NE, died today at 4 a.m. at her home. She was born Nov. 10, 1889, in Bazetta, a daughter of John and Mary Hoagland Clark. The Gouldthorpes marked their 50th wedding anniversary June 14, 1959. She was a life-time county resident and worked as a dietitian. She retired from Harding High School cafeteria 25 years ago and had previously worked at the Warner Hotel for many years. Mrs. Gouldthorpe was a Past Noble Grand of Rebecca Lodge; a past president of the Woman's Relief Corps and a member of the Central Christian Church. For several years she played piano and organ for the silent movies which were shown at the Opera House and Hippodrome Theatre. Surviving are her husband, Fred; a daughter, Mrs. Grace Reynolds, Phoenix; a son, John, Warren; two brothers, Fred and Ward Clark, Warren, three sisters, Miss Grace Clark, Mrs. Alice Barr, both of Warren, and Mrs. Olive Jacobs, Youngstown; and four grandchildren. Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park.
