She was a foster parent for 26 years and raised 107 foster children. She was passionate about helping others and went from fostering children to fostering animals.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rosa Patrick and Elmer Woodard, her husband of 57 years William "Willie" Hartley, her brother Michael Ray Woodward, her infant son Donald Ray and cousin (adopted son), Winston "Lefty" Buzbee.
She is survived her son Charles (Brenda) Hartley, Eight Mile, AL., her daughter Lesa Hartley, Satsuma, AL., daughter in law, Evelyn Buzbee, Foley, AL., a special nephew (son) Kenneth (Tammy) Woodward, Saraland, AL., grandchildren; Charles (Anna) Hartley, Jr, Kansas, Shiral Hartley, West Virginia, Hannah Hartley-Hadley, Satsuma, AL. Five great grandchildren, her very special friend, Diane (Joe) Langley, her sister in laws; Judy (Dickey) Callen, Elaine (James) Moore, Mary (Richard) Fye, Annette (Neil) Hartley, brother in law Roy Hartley and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She is also survived by her fur babies, Coco (black poodle), Pixie (Chi/Dach), Milo (Yorkie) and Princess (Yorkie).
Graveside service for Margaret will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2018,12:00 PM, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 10000 Celeste Road, Saraland, AL 36571.
