Mr. Irving R. Young, 75, of Rockville, died Monday, May 13, at his home. His wife, Esther Young, predeceased him in 1962.

Born and reared in Maryland, Mr. Young was a son of the late Llewelyn and Stella Darr Young.

Mr. Young served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He was employed with Devlin Lumber Co. for 35 years and retired as a yard foreman in 1974.

Surviving Mr. Young are one daughter, Shirley Young, Atlanta, Ga.; two step-children; May Barney, Northville, Mich., and James Carlisle, Walkersville; and one sister, Ruth H. Davis, Clarksburg.

Friends may call from at Pumphrey's Colonial Funeral Home, Rockville.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 18, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Mr. Young's name be made to the American Cancer Society, Montgomery County Chapter.
