Graveside services for Mrs. Edward Forrest Perry, wife of the late Edward Forrest Perry of Augusta, who died Saturday, June 13, at her residence after an extended illness were held here Monday, June 15 at 4 p.m.
The Rev. E.G. Orahood, pastor of the Sandersville Christian Church, officiated, assisted by the Rev. J.M. Branch of Davisboro.
Mrs. Perry was the former Miss Elizabeth Harris, daughter of the late Rev. Thomas Harris and Mary Smith Harris. She was born October 12, 1874 in Washington County.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Helen Moore of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Florence D. Kelley, of Isle of Palms, SC, Mrs. Lillian Kelley of Augusta, Mrs. Barbara Lofton of Columbus, Mrs. Sally Witty of Ennis, Texas; four sons, Fred H. Perry of Pomona, Calif., Edward F. Perry of Davisboro, George D. Perry of Boston, Mass., and Thomas H. Perry of Dallas, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Malpasse of Oakland, Calif., and Mrs. Mattie Archer of Raleigh, N.C.; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Rabun Taylor, Judy Davis, Jake Moye, Joe Cox, Lonnie Moye, Jr., and Albert Moye.
Interment was in the City Cemetery with Lang's Chapel in charge of arrangements.
Note: Elizabeth's sister, Annie Malpasse, mentioned in the above obituary died one week later on June 20, 1953.
Elizabeth was the second wife of Edward F. Perry, married on 6 Jan 1904 in Washington County, Georgia
