Obituary

Mrs. Clarence E. Painter, 63, a resident of Poolesville, Md., for 35 years, died Sunday in Frederick Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

Mrs. Painter, the former Nellie Pearl Golladay, was a native of Stephens City, Va. She and Mr. Painter, a carpenter, were married in 1912.

Surviving her, besides her husband, are five children: Mrs. Claire E. Ruble of Fullerton, Md., ; Mrs. Nell V. Dayhoff of Damascus, Md.; Mrs. Janet Lee Bliss of Poolesville; Garland Painter of Dickerson, Md,. and H. Kenneth Painter of Gaithersburg, Md. Also surviving are four brothers, John and Carmel [Golladay] of Stephens City, James [Golladay] of Lakeview, Ohio, and Arthur [Golladay] of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Walter and Mrs. Emma Neville, both of Linden, Va., and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. today in the Hilton funeral home, Barnesville, Md., followed by burial in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville, Md.
