Mrs. Goldie Irene Mathews Heflin, 87, of Citizens Nursing Center, Frederick, died Friday, June 21, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late John W. Heflin.

Born Feb. 15, 1909, in Leesburg, Va., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Grade Mathews.

Surviving are two daughters, Betty L. Rogers and husband James J. of Jefferson, and Barbara E. Heflin of Frederick; and three sisters, Florence Zimmerman, Dorothy Putnan and Anna Kingree, all of Frederick.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy L. Heflin; three sisters, Mabel, Marietta and Edna Mathews; and four brothers, Russell, A. Walton, Raymond and John Mathews.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, June 24, at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville. The Rev. Bruce Wierks will officiate. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
