50th Anniversary Announcement
Frederick Post - February 21, 1962

Mr. and Mrs. Reese Allen Waddle observed their 50th wedding anniversary January 31. Mr. Waddle, 84, and Mrs. Waddle, 74, were married at Long Hollow, Smyth County, Virginia, January 31, 1912. Mrs. Waddle is the former Aura Elmeda Sparks. The couple, who lived in the Poolesville area for 40 years, are now residing in Taneytown.

Mr. Waddle is well-known in the Poolesville-Germantown area for his skill of carpentry, farmer, and blacksmith. He also delivered mail on horseback around 1918.

The Waddles have four children; Mrs. Edna E. Fink, Blountsville, Fla.; Mrs. Mary V. Woods, Boyds; George R. Waddle, Washington; and John D. Waddle of Germantown. There are also 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Frederick Post - February 18, 1966

Reese A. Waddell, 88, of Urbana, died Wednesday in Frederick Memorial Hospital.

He was the husband of Mrs. Aura Elmeda Waddell.

Surviving are his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Edna Fink of Blountstown, Fla. and Mrs. Mary Woods of Mineral, Va.; two sons, George Waddell of Beltsville and John Waddell of Washington Grove; three sisters, Mrs. Lina Whisman of Sellman, Mrs. Stella Phelps of Washington, and Mrs. Martha Lambert of Saltville, Va.; and five brothers, Daniel Waddell of Roanoke, Va.; John Waddell of Chatham, Va.; Prince Waddell of Gaithersburg; and Jack and Jess Waddell of Nebraska.

Friends may call at the Hilton Funeral Home in Barnesville where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Monocacy Cemetery in Beallsville.
