Adin Adams, whose death occurred early Monday morning, was born in Dover fifty-seven years ago, but had been a resident of this town for some twenty-six years or more. He married while living in Dover and had one daughter, Mrs. Geo. Houghton of South Newfane. When the war broke out he went in Co. I, 16th Vermont volunteers, and soon after the war moved to this town, where he married Emeranca May, by whom he had three children—Ada, Calista and Hugh. Mrs. May survives him. The funeral was held from the house on Wednesday, Rev. J.D. Skinner officiating. The local G.A.R., of which he was a member, attended. The burial was in the Cutting cemetery. Mr. Adams had been sick only a short time and was not considered dangerous. He was conscious until about the last and knew his friends who called. He had a heart trouble which, aided by pneumonia, caused his death. The family have the sympathy of all in the loss of a good member.
