Mr. Theodore "Ted" William Schumacher, 84, passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, in Waco. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Waco Memorial Park with the Rev. Mark Steven Schumacher officiating.Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.
Ted was born in Akron, Ohio, to the late Albert and Faye Norris Schumacher. He was a longtime resident of Waco. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard prior to attending vocational school of machinery. He worked as a foreman of maintenance for General Tire in Waco for nine years and then went to work for General Tire International and worked in several foreign countries before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine; and a daughter, Karen Ann Wills.
Survivors include his daughter, Shelley Jane Smith and husband, Stephen, of Dublin, Ohio; sons, Craig Allen Schumacher, of Robinson and Mark Steven Schumacher and wife, Bridget, of El Paso; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
