Barker, Miss Ruth Amelia, 76, of 290 Sooner St., North Port Charlotte, Sunday (Sept 13 1970). Born in Avon, Ind. Came to North Port Charlotte two years ago from there. Taught English and home economics in the Indiana School System for a number of years and then became supervisor of the postal employees cafeteria in the Federal Building in Indianapolis, Ind., retiring 11 years ago. Methodist Church of North Port Charlotte and the Woman's Society of Christian Service of the church, the University Club and Tops Club, both of North Port Charlotte and the North Port Charlotte Civic Association. Survived by one adopted son, Frederick R. Barker, and one sister, Mrs. Mary E White, North Port Charlotte.
