Frank F. Davis, age 87, of Winterset, formerly of Chariton, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003 at Westbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Winterset, of complications of a stroke.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at First United Methodist Church in Winterset, with Pastor Robert Barrick officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31 at the Chariton Cemetery in Chariton. A luncheon will be held immediately following graveside services at First United Methodist Church in Chariton, where the family will be present to greet friends.
Frank was born in Sterling, Colo., April 24, 1915, the son of Arthur M. and Lola Ellen (Fitch) Davis. He married Bonnie McNeer June 1, 1941, in Princeton, Mo.
He was a life-long resident of Chariton, working in tire sales for Davis Tire and Battery and later with Montgomery Wards. He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy.
Frank was a member of First United Methodist Church in Chariton, Chariton American Legion Post # 102, Chariton Masonic Lodge # 63 and the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine of Altoona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bonnie on April 19, 1997; four sisters: Ada, Hazel, Helena and Freda.
Frank is survived by a son Blair F. Davis and his wife Sherry of Littleton, Colo.; daughter Lynn Lafollette and husband Robert of Winterset; sister Opal Countryman of Washington State; seven grandchildren: Ahren, Andrew, Carrie, Abbie, Shawn, Chris and Jess; eight great-grandchildren: Adam, Austin, Colter, Kathryn, Henry, Taylor, Adam and Trenton.
