Robert S. Wright, Sr., 62, of RFD 1, Dickerson, died Tuesday at Western Maryland State Hospital, Hagerstown, after a short illness.
He was born in Virginia, a son of the late Dorsey L. and Gertrude L. Baily Wright.
He was a mechanic and operator of a Darnestown grocery store, retiring four years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances M. Stang Wright, Rockville; two sons, Robert Wright, Jr., Buckeystown; and Ralph E. Wright, Darnestown; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Savage, Mt. Airy; and Mrs. Lilly C. Van Hoosier, Darnestown; four brothers, Maurice L. Wright, Fla.; Dorsey P. Wright, Fla.; Floyd H. Wright, Fla.; and Paul E. Wright, Bethesda; four sisters, Mrs. Laurel Walker, Oakton, Va.; Mrs. Margaret Becker, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Sarah Tyler, Mokesville, Va.; and Mrs. Edith Nails, Manassas, Va.; thirteen grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Barton Funeral Home in Walkersville after 5 p.m. today. Services at the funeral home will be Saturday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Eugene Lawson will officiate. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
