Washington, Utah - Orvin Phyllis Nielsen passed away January 19, 2012 from natural causes, surrounded by his wife and some of his family members who loved him very much. He was born August 21, 1924 in Huntington, Utah. He was the middle child of three boys.

At an early age the family moved to Blackfoot, Idaho where he spent his high school years. While living in Idaho, Orvin met Rosalie Bergeman and they were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Orvin served in the Army during World War II. At the conclusion of his duty, Orvin and his wife moved to Portland, Oregon. He became a successful businessman developing mobile home parks. He was active in the LDS Church. He was in the bishopric while in Oregon also donating much time and money to help those in need. In 1974, he moved to St. George, Utah and soon became involved once again in real estate development.

Orvin was a great believer in the constitution. Orvin and Rosalie donated money and many hours working with W. Cleon Skousen in researching, filing, putting together and helping him make a go of the beautiful hard bound book called "The Making of America". Orvin was very proud of this great accomplishment and the Association he had with Cleon Skousen. The book was published in 1985.

Orvin was a loving, caring and very generous man. He is one of a kind and he will be greatly missed. He tried to help so many people. He just didn't have the means to take care of all he wanted to. He felt it was important and tried to help each one of his kids get their own homes.
