Drowned when his rowboat overturned while fishing at Mouth of the Monocacy along the Potomac River. He and David Donald Warfield both died.

Besides his parents, the boy is survived by the following sisters and brothers; Mrs. Mildred Stottlemyer, Dickerson; Mrs. Jesse Gibson, Wheaton; Mrs. helen Collins, Silver Spring; Mrs. Eleanor Clements, Rockville; Mrs. Gladys Rachel, Dickerson; Misses Dorothy Lou and Blanche Poole, at home; and the two brothers, Raymond Poole, in service in Germany, and Harvey Poole. with the armed forces in England.

Funeral was held March 16, 1945 at 3 o'clock with services at Dickerson Methodist church followed by interment in Monocacy Cemetery.
